Reviews:: The Gertrudes - Hard Water
Submitted by Herohill on 07.3.09 at 8:47am.
I reviewed the Apple Crisp magazine/CD comp, I kind of fell in love with Kingston folkers, The Gertrudes. In attempting to come up with a concise description, I used the words, "simply captivating" and after countless listens to their debut EP and comp tracks, I still feel the same way about the ...

If there is anything more annoying than immigrants who constantly complain about the weather/lack of jobs/high prices/general unfriendliness of their chosen country, it is those insanely cheerful immigrants who wave maple-leaf flags and sing O Canada on Canada Day.

Leave the Beaten Track Behind
Submitted by Flandrum Hill on 07.3.09 at 8:34am.
Both humans and animals favor the beaten track. It’s easy. It’s less work and there’s less chance of coming across the unknown. Yet, there’s a price to be paid for both men and wild creatures.

This calls for a Bud Light!
Submitted by Rainy Saturday blog on 07.3.09 at 8:31am.
Yesterday was Canada Day, and H2B and I were sure to spend part of the day drinking beer like good little Canadians. I'd heard that Bud Light Lime was sold out everywhere in the province but when I stumbled over some in an NSLC store during Tuesday's post-work wine run, I had to snatch up a 12-pack.

t’s hilarious how you can be speculating one day about revenue models that Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg should implement and then the next day you read an article on how he’s doing exactly what you were thinking he should do. What a lovely appetizer to show off to your family and friends! Radicchio is a garden plant from the north of Italy and is also known as red Treviso or red chicory. It offers a spicy bitterness that can add a bite to dishes when used raw, or that can be tamed through grilling or roasting.
