Slow But Sure

The white post covers from Trex have not arrived yet. I am hoping against hope that the deck will be finished by the end of the week but it is not looking good. I have been assured that the handrails and spindles will not take long to complete once the white covers are installed on the posts. The... Read More.

Finally - Flawed But Finished

I started this little cardigan on December 3, 2011. It qualifies as the longest ongoing project in my knitting history! I have knit the pattern several times successfully but deciding to do it in stripes this time resulted in no end of difficulties with the finish work. Read More.

Babies, Babies Everywhere!

So many babies . . . so many baby knits! Remember I mentioned a co-worker was pregnant? I managed to finish the baby hat for her yet-to-be-born baby girl. I like the pink trim along the edge. The plan is to add a pink flower. Read More.

Knitted Baby Onesie

I've had my eye on this adorable little onesie pattern for what seems like forever. Probably since long before I was pregnant actually, back when my baby knits were only for friends.
I made it in approximately a 6 month-ish size hoping that it'll be winter by the time our son will fit into it. ...

Project Nursery: Sew A Crib Skirt

My material choice was classic white with black ribbon detailing. Two yards of fabric was more then enough.
Starting across the front of the crib, first measure your crib length from leg to leg. Next measure the top of the base (where the mattress will lay) to the floor. This will give you yo...

A Little Crochet

I've been busy with me hook. First off, meet my newest friend: Toadette. I opted not to give her a vest. And I used little buttons painted black for eyes. Essentially she's finished except for the braids--they're so small and fiddly, but she'll get them nevertheless. Read More.

Toddler Cardigan

One of my favourite things about making baby clothes before a baby is born is feeling like you don't really have to pay attention to size too much. As long as it's not too tiny and the babe will get a decent amount of wear out of it, I'm happy. Read More.

An Ending and a Beginning

So I finally have an FO to share! Say hello to my new socks.
These were a pair I started before the holidays (remember my first toe-up socks? I had used Liat Gat's Beginner's Toe-Up Socks). These blue socks are a much better fit than my first fingering pair.

I'm on a bit of a knitting kick lately. And by a "bit" of a kick I really mean I'm experiencing a serious obsession. Baby knits are just so quick and satisfying! The Making of the Wreath

On Saturday night I put on my crafty pants and got down to the business of making a fall wreath.
