Images our Architect sent us
Submitted by Building the White House on 08.25.08 at 8:10am.
Our architect Monica sent these images to us along with a bunch of others to help her determine a ’style’ for the the house. We weren’t really into the others, but these really encapsulate our thoughts. A modern design with classic detailing (raw cedar shingles really do it for me!).

Nifty tidal power video
Submitted by Bay of Fundy Blog on 08.7.08 at 8:48am.
It's probably no surprise that our massive tides are not only of interest to tourists but also to alternative energy folks. How important is the environment to you as an election issue?
Are you prepared to vote for the party that has the best environmental platform/policy?
It looks like we might see a federal election in the fall. But, as I write to you in the middle of the summer of 2008, how important is a “green”...

My Climate Change Hangover
Submitted by Smart Like Streetcar on 07.24.08 at 7:13am.
Lately, I’ve been beating my head against the wall with some regularity. I suppose it will feel good when I stop.
In the course of our daily work, I read an article by Brett Stephens — a Wall Street Journal columnist — debunking the science of climate change. By cherrypicking a fact here, offeri...

Environment > Civil Liberties?
Submitted by RGM Unlimited on 07.23.08 at 8:25am.
I'm a little scared at the idea that we should be taking our cues on the environment from the Communist, human rights-abusing government of China. What I'm even more scared of is how many people in this country think it's a pretty decent idea.

What would Al Gore do?
Submitted by Oregano on 07.22.08 at 2:44pm.
Whenever I feel that I’m not being eco-friendly enough, I ask myself “What would Suzuki do?”, or even just rhyme off the acroynm, “WWSD”. It works wonders, it really does. Really now, every Canadian I know wishes he or she could be David Suzuki’s grandchild. It’s simply in the nature of things.

The Saint John Telegraph-Journal — the largest newspaper in New Brunswick’s largest city — published a commentary by Ian L. When the facts change
Submitted by Wolfville Watch on 07.19.08 at 6:59am.
Nationally, provincially and municipally, governments are making very serious decisions based on a theory. Lots and lots of money is being spent on this idea and we are asked to make significant economic sacrifices because of it. That proposition is that CO2 emissions cause the earth to warm.

The Geography of Hope
Submitted by Silver Donald on Sunday on 07.16.08 at 11:44am.
“Environmentalism has become a sort of mythology of death – passionate, lyrical, righteous and hopeless,” says Chris Turner. It has “failed as a common language of hope or a ritual of rebirth. It has failed as myth.”
